(Los Angeles, CA) “KUJO, MY LOVE”, a sophisticated and modern screwball comedy, starring Amy Hunter & Elimu Nelson, tells the story of a regular Black woman exploring the possibilities of love, in a truly impossible situation.
With crackling wit and sexy-cool components, Stacy has detailed the unconventional love story of MALLORY, who awakens with a headache banging like a P.Diddy remix and very quickly realizes where she is -- in some stranger’s bed. Once she gets her bearings, Mallory is content to tip-toe out and let this remain a ‘one night stand’, but when her getaway plan is ruined she’s forced to go back inside to face HIM… and his cat, KUJO.
Notably light on gratuitous sex, Stacy has crafted not a floozy, but a relatable, deeply flawed human being who’s been longing for true love and companionship in her life; while her lump of a one night stand, JACOB, has actually been longing for the same things too.
“KUJO, MY LOVE” will bring you face to face with why Black love stories are so important to the fabric of America and why they deserve to be told. Stacy is interested in taking a positive step towards expanding Black Cinema past its current trend of glamorizing gangsters, ghetto-life and other negative stereotypes. This film will be showcased at notable film festivals around the country, and eventually sold to a Cable Network.
Stay tuned for the many festival debuts throughout 2007!
